Overview
For most visitors the Burj Al Arab is a silhouette seen from Jumeirah beach. This gets you through the door without booking a suite. The atrium alone runs 180 metres straight up — tall enough to stand the Dubai Frame inside it — and the guided route takes in the Royal Suite floor, where the private cinema and the rotating four-poster bed are exactly as absurd as you would hope. It closes with a drink and time at the windows. Ninety minutes, and worth booking a sunset slot.
